6. AWARD CONTRACT: PURCHASE OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR\nEMERGENCY RESPONSE – F2M23-6B, C2M23-8, M2M23-15\nFire Department staff use emergency medical equipment daily to provide services to the\nresidents of Alhambra. The current gurneys are 11 years old with a 7-year recommended\nuseful life and the stair-pro chairs are 16 years old with a 10-year recommended use. The\nFire Department has the opportunity to piggyback on a Public Safety Association Inc.\n(team up with Savvik) contract RFB#2019-05 for the purchase of emergency medical\nequipment. Public Safety Association Inc. bid specifications included an option for\npurchasing gurneys and stair-pro chairs, and related accessories. The contract expires\nJune 30, 2024. Per the Alhambra Municipal Code 3.36.080(B), bidding exemption is\nauthorized and the City may “piggy back” onto an existing contract of a government entity.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to Stryker Sales, LLC for the replacement\nof two gurneys and three stair-pro chairs with accessories for emergency response, in an\n4\n2-13-23\namount not to exceed $91,502.00; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to\nfinalize Council’s action.
