Office of Justice Programs FY23 Byrne Discretionary Grant\nRecommendation(s):\nRecognize revenue in the amount of $1,100,000 into account number\nOJPBYRNE24.FEDOTHER (30030000.4998), and appropriate the same amount to expense\naccount number OJPBYRNE24.MISCGRANT (30030000.5656)\nThe Office of Justice Programs within the DOJ requested that we apply to the 2023 Byrne\nDiscretionary Grant in order to receive the allocated funding which resulted in accepting and\nawarding the City’s application in May 2023. Once all training certification and paperwork\nwas completed, the City was given approval to purchase the equipment and installation\nneeded for this project. The President signed into public law on December 29, 2023 the\nConsolidated Appropriations Act for FY2023, HR2617 which included the City’s project.\nCOUNCIL REPORTS
