RESOLUTION NO. - Acceptance of a Grant Award and Execution of a Grant Agreement with\nthe US Department of Labor: In amount of $1,000,000 for implementation of an aviation\nworkforce development program at Los Angeles International Airport\nPURPOSE: The requested actions are to secure federal grant funds for an aviation workforce\ndevelopment program at Los Angeles International Airport to provide career mentorship and\nsupportive services for youth and disadvantaged adults to address education, training, and\nemployment barriers in the design and construction industry sectors.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: Adoption of the Report requesting that the Board of Airport\n6.\nCommissioners determine that this action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality\nAct (CEQA) pursuant to Article II, Section 2.f of the Los Angeles City CEQA Guidelines;\napprove acceptance of a federal grant award of $1,000,000 from the US Department of Labor\nCommunity Project Funding/Congressional Directed Spending Program; authorize the Chief\nExecutive Officer, or designee, to execute the Grant Agreement with the US Department of\nLabor after approval as to form by the City Attorney; and further authorize the Chief Executive\nOfficer, or designee, to execute any subsequent amendments to said Grant Agreement that may\nbe required by said agency for Los Angeles World Airports to continue to accept Community\nProject Funding/Congressional Directed Spending Program funds, after approval as to form by\nthe City Attorney.
