A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEVERLY HILLS\nCONDITIONALLY APPROVING A DEVELOPMENT PLAN REVIEW TO ALLOW\nTHE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW THIRD STORY, ALONG WITH MODIFIED\nLOADING FACILITIES, AT 9884 SOUTH SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD,\nFINDING THE PROJECT EXEMPT FROM THE CALIFORNIA\nENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT, AND DENYING A RELATED APPEAL\n(PL2200237).\nComment: On January 23, 2024, the City Council held a de novo public hearing to\nconsider an appeal filed by Michael Tenner, on behalf of the Belvedere Hotel\nPartnership (“Peninsula Beverly Hills”) of the Planning Commission’s January 13,\n2023 decision approving a Development Plan Review and Historic Incentive Permit\nassociated with planned improvements for the property at 9884 South Santa Monica\nBoulevard. At the conclusion of the hearing, the Council directed City staff to\nprepare a draft resolution approving an amended version of the project with\nadditional operational and construction-related conditions for the Council’s\nconsideration.
