6-A. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MONTEREY PARK CONDEMNING THE MILITARY JUNTA OF MYANMAR (BURMA) FOR THE OPPRESSION OF CIVILIANS WITH EXCESSIVE VIOLENCE AND STANDING FIRMLY WITH THE PEOPLE OF BURMA IN THEIR PURSUIT FOR A FAIR, JUST, AND SUSTAINABLE DEMOCRATIC SOVEREIGN GOVERNMENT (REQUESTED BY MAYOR PRO TEM WONG) It is recommended that the City Council consider: (1) Adopting a resolution condemning the military junta of Myanmar (Burma) for the oppression of civilians with excessive violence and standing firmly with the people of Burma in their pursuit for a fair, just, and sustainable democratic sovereign government; and (2) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.
