Recommendation to Expand Contract with Southwest Patrol to Implement Seven\nDay Coverage by Armed Security Guards\nRecommendation: that the City Council select one of the following options: Option 1.)\nApprove funding to expand the contract with Southwest Patrol for additional security\ncoverage for one year of continuous armed services and approve the budget amendment\nfor $195,000 in account 285-300-530.100; or Option 2) Approve funding to expand the\ncontract with Southwest Patrol for additional security coverage for the remainder of fiscal\nyear 23/24 in the amount of $49,000 and then reassess the effectiveness of the daytime\nguard at the end of fiscal year 23/24; or Option 3) Provide direction for a different option\nwith recommendations for the number of hours and days they would like to provide armed\nprotection services.
