5-A. DISCUSSION AND DIRECTION REGARDING ASSEMBLY BILL 2979 (2024) (“AB 2979”) It is recommended that the City Council consider: (1) Discussing and providing direction on AB 2979 entitled “Income taxation: exclusion: victim compensation” (an act relating to taxation); (2) If desirable, signing a letter on behalf of the City either in support of or opposition to AB 2979; and (3) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.
