5-B. DISCUSSION AND DIRECTION REGARDING SENATE BILL 1094 (2024) (“SB 1094”) It is recommended that the City Council consider: (1) Discussing and providing direction on SB 1094 entitled “Pupil instruction: course of study: social sciences: civic engagement” (an act to amend Sections 51210 and 51220 of the Education Code, relating to pupil instruction); (2) If desirable, signing a letter on behalf of the City either in support of or opposition to SB 1094; and (3) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.
