5. AWARD CONTRACT: INSTALLATION OF PEDESTRIAN COUNTDOWN SIGNAL\nHEAD SYSTEMS PROJECT AT VARIOUS INTERSECTIONS THROUGHOUT THE\nCITY (HSIP-5130(022)) – F2M23-73, N2M23-137, C2M24-16, M2M24-40\nThe Installation of Pedestrian Countdown Signal Head Systems Project (HSIP-5130(022))\nconsists of installing countdown signal heads at various intersections throughout the City.\nThe City Council authorized a Notice Inviting Bids for the Project on November 13. 2023.\nOn January 4, 2024, the City Clerk received two bids that ranged from $170,920.00 to\n$212,928.00. Staff reviewed the bids and found the one received from Bear Electrical\nSolutions, Inc. in the amount of $170,920.00 to be the lowest responsible bid. Bear\nElectrical Solutions, Inc. has the necessary licenses to complete the work and has\nconducted similar projects for the City of Alhambra.\nRecommended Action: City Council award a contract, subject to final language\napproval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to Bear Electrical Solutions, Inc. in the\namount of $170,920.00 for the Installation of Pedestrian Countdown Signal Head Systems\nProject at various intersections throughout the City (HSIP-5130(022)); and, direct staff to\nundertake the steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.
