4. RATIFICATION OF CONTRACT NO. C2M24-14 FOR THE 2024 EMERGENCY ROOF\nREPAIR PROJECT – F2M24-36, C2M24-14, M2M24-39\nThe recent rain storms caused significant damage to City owned buildings. The Utilities\nWarehouse and offices at the City Yard, Fire Station 71, the Communications Building,\nFire Station 74, and the flat roof areas of Fire Station 72 experienced significant damage\ncaused by roof leakage during the recent storms. These buildings house personnel,\nequipment and materials critical to providing the essential services to Alhambra. City staff\ndo not have the proper equipment or specialized skills to make the required repairs. As\nsuch, staff contacted the contractor that recently provided the lowest bid and installed a\nnew roof at the Police Department building. Wiltshire Urethane Foam Company can\nperform the work in a timely manner to prevent further intrusion, damage and harm to City\nfacilities and personnel. Emergency contract for this work is permissible under Alhambra\nMunicipal Code Chapter 3.36.070(A)(4).\nRecommended Action: City Council ratify Contract No. C2M24-14 with Wiltshire\nUrethane Foam Company for the 2024 Emergency Roof Repair Project in the amount of\n$367,992.00; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.\n(M2M24-39)
