3. NOTICE INVITING BIDS: WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT ON MARENGO\nAVENUE – F2M24-34, N2M24-37\nThe 10-inch cast iron water main on Marengo Avenue between Grand Avenue and\nAlhambra Road was installed in 1966. This segment of water main has history of breaks,\ncausing interruption of water service and damage to the road. Replacing the water main\n3\n3-11-24\nwould greatly improve flow, firefighting capabilities, and overall system reliability. Plans\nand specifications have been prepared. Staff reviewed the plans and found them to be\nconsistent with the City’s standards.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve the distribution of a Notice Inviting Bids\nto qualified contractors for the Water Main Replacement Project on Marengo Avenue with\nbids due no later than 10:30 a.m. on April 4, 2024, and opened at 11:00 a.m. that same\nday.
