PROPOSED ACCEPTANCE OF THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT\nPERFORMANCE (EMPG) 22 GRANT AND ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION\nAPPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT\nSummary:\nThe United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) implements grant\nprograms that support the DHS/Federal Emergency Management Agency. The\nfocus of these grants is to enhance resiliency and preparedness for\nemergencies. The City has been awarded the Emergency Management\nPerformance Grant (EMPG) 22 funding in the amount of $97,150. The grant\nfunding would be used to offset City costs to upgrade the Emergency\nOperations Center and resources and supplies related to emergency\nmanagement functions and outreach. Staff recommends the City Council\nauthorize the City Manager to accept the grant and adopt a resolution\nauthorizing a budget adjustment to increase grant revenue by $97,150 and\nrelated expenditures.\nStrategic Plan Goal(s):\nGoal No. 1 Financial Stability: Ensure the City’s long-term financial stability\nand resilience.\nGoal No. 2 Community Safety: Maintain community safety by supporting\npublic safety services and increasing emergency preparedness.\nRecommendations:\n1. Authorize the City Manager to accept grant funding through the Emergency\nManagement Performance Grant (EMPG) 22 grant.\n2.
