PROPOSED ACCEPTANCE OF THE STATE HOMELAND SECURITY\nPROGRAM (SHSP) 22 GRANT AND ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION\nAPPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT\nSummary:\nThe United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) implements grant\nprograms that support the DHS/Federal Emergency Management Agency. The\nfocus of these grants is to enhance resiliency to emergencies and enhance\npreparedness. The City has been awarded the State Homeland Security\nProgram (SHSP) 22 grant in the amount of $45,577. The awarded SHSP 22\ngrant funding will be used to offset the Police Department’s costs for the\nupgrade of a security video server. Staff recommends the City Council authorize\nthe City Manager to accept the grant and adopt a resolution authorizing a\nbudget adjustment to increase grant revenue by $45,577 and related\nexpenditures.\nStrategic Plan Goal(s):\nGoal No. 1 Financial Stability: Ensure the City’s long-term financial stability\nand resilience.\nGoal No. 2 Community Safety: Maintain community safety by supporting\npublic safety and increasing emergency preparedness.\nRecommendations:\n1. Authorize the City Manager to accept grant funding through the State\nHomeland Security Program 22 grant.\n2.
