15.c OATHS OF OFFICE. (0430-65) City Manager Hail introduced Carol Seabury. The Ceremonial Oath of Office for Carol Seabury - District 1 was administered by Prior Councilmember Hazel Bailey and she was pinned by Duane Snider. City Clerk Kelly presented Councilmember Seabury with her Certificate of Election. Councilmember Seabury expressed her thanks and appreciation to her supporters. City Manager Hall introduced Mitch McKay The Oath of Office for Mitch McKay - District 3 was administered by City Clerk Kelly and he was pinned by his wife, Suzanne Parish-McKay. City Clerk Kelly presented Councilmember McKay with his Certificate of Election. Councilmember McKay thanked everyone for their attendance. City Manager Hall introduced Paloma Aguirre. The Ceremonial Oath of Office for Paloma Aguirre was administered by Nora Vargas, Vice Chair of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, and she was pinned by her husband, Delio Baclaski. City Clerk Kelly presented Mayor Aguirre with her Certificate of Election. Mayor Aguirre thanked Vice Chair Vargas and said it was an honor to be sworn in by the first Latina District 1 Supervisor and future Chair of the County Board of Supervisor. She acknowledged her family who were not able to attend but were watching online. She thanked City staff for putting the event together, the Sheriff's deputies for keeping the community safe, and Novo Brazil for opening their doors for the event. She also thanked and recognized all the candidates for running for office. She congratulated her new Council colleagues and looks forward to working with them on improving the quality of life for all Imperial Beach residents. She also recognized her husband, Delio, for his unconditional support, and thanked all her supporters who assisted her during her successful campaign. She thanked the community for entrusting her with the great honor and responsibility as Mayor. The new members were seated at the dais.
