13. At the October 23, 2024 City Council meeting, the City approved a letter of engagement with KOA Corporation to enhance the design of three existing signalized intersections that are part of the First Mile Last Mile Plan. The three intersections will be: Beverly Boulevard & Maple Avenue, Whittier Boulevard & Garfield Avenue, and Whittier Boulevard & Montebello Boulevard. The Transit Department conducted a Page 5 of 5 public presentation and discussed high visibility crosswalks, median refuge islands, bicycle/ pedestrian- friendly signal timing, reflective border on signal heads, etc. COMMISSION/COMMITTEE ORALS Member announcements; requests for future agenda items; conference/meetings reports.
