D. Discussion of Proposed Draft Ordinance Changing the City' s Municipal Election\nDate from State Primary Elections to the State General Elections in November of\nEven Numbered Years\nOn December 13, 2022, the City Council directed City staff to return with a proposed\ndraft ordinance for discussion in potentially moving the City' s General Election date\nfrom the staggered State Primary Election cycle of March/ June of even -numbered\nyears to the Statewide General Election cycle beginning in November 2024 and\ncontinuing thereafter in even -numbered years. The proposed ordinance will also\nadjust the terms of office for elected officeholders.\nRecommendation: That the City Council discuss and provide further direction to\nCity staff.
