14.5 Consideration and Approval of a Resolution of the City Council Authorizing\nEmergency Repairs for the City Owned Building Located at 3629 Cypress Ave.\nRECOMMENDATION OF BUSINESS ITEM UNDER CONSIDERATION:\nIt is recommended that the City Council:\n1. Adopt a Resolution by a 4/5 vote of the City Council pursuant to Section 3.24.060 (D) of\nthe Municipal Code and Sections 1102, 20168 and 22050 (a) of the Public Contract Code\nauthorizing the emergency solicitation of the building repair services without formal\ncompetitive bidding to conduct emergency repairs to the City-owned building located at\n3629 Cypress Avenue which has sustained damage caused by a sudden and unexpected\nroof collapse (hereinafter, the “Emergency Repair Work”).\n2. Authorize an increase in appropriations in the Measure R Funds for the Fiscal Year 2023-\n2024 budget in the amount of $500,000 for the Emergency Repair work to the building\nlocated at 3629 Cypress Ave; and\n3. Authorize the City Manager or Public Works & Utilities Director to execute contract(s) for\nall required emergency repairs to the subject facility caused by the roof collapse.\nTotal Cost: $500,000 Account No: Measure R\nIs the cost of this item budgeted?
