C. AWARD OF PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACT TO ONYX PAVING COMPANY, INC.\nFOR FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT, CIP NO.\nP-24-02\nThe City Council is requested to award a Public Works Contract for the Fiscal\nYear 2023-24 Pavement Rehabilitation Project, CIP No. P-24-02.\nRecommendation:\n1. Award a Public Works Contract (Contract) to Onyx Paving Company, Inc.\n(Attachment “A”) as the lowest responsible bidder in an amount of $3,609,000 for\nthe Fiscal Year 2023-24 Pavement Rehabilitation Project, CIP No. P-24-02 and\nauthorize the City Manager to execute the Contract;\n2. Authorize the City Manager to add Additive Alternative Bid items (up to\n$857,000, which is total of all additive Bid Items A, B, C, D) to Onyx Paving\nCompany, Inc., contract as deemed necessary; and\n3. Authorize 10% of the total contract amount as contingency allowance\n(including adding 10% contingency to any alternative bid items per item 2\nabove) to be used if necessary for unforeseen conditions at the City\nManager’s discretion.
