7.8 SiFi NETWORK'S PROPOSAL TO TRENCH USING AN 'E-DESIGN' WITHIN THE CITY\nOF LYNWOOD\nComments:\nOn February 21, 2024, the City had an Ad-hoc meeting to discuss a proposed change to\nthe trenching method SiFi Networks is requesting to use within the City of Lynwood.\nInstead of trenching on both sides of the street detailed in the Development Agreement,\nthey are proposing an ‘E Design’ where they trench on one side of the street and cut\nacross the street to reach homes on the other side. This would occur in approximately\n70% of the streets. The perpendicular cuts would occur every two houses.\nThe Ad-hoc committee decided against the use of the E-Design method due to the\nunforeseen problems caused by the lateral cuts that would occur on many of the newly\npaved streets. (IT)\nRecommendation:\nStaff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution entitled; "A RESOLUTION\nOF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR\nOR DESIGNEE TO DENY SIFI NETWORK’S PROPOSAL TO TRENCH USING AN ‘E-\nDESIGN’ WITHIN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD."
