17. CONSIDER AWARD OF A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO HP COMMUNICATIONS, INC. FOR PROJECT NO. 1797: CITYWIDE MUNICIPAL FIBER OPTIC NETWORK UTILITY UNDERGROUNDING AND EXCAVATION CONSTRUCTION PHASE I. (CITY COUNCIL) RECOMMENDED ACTION — 1. AWARD a construction contract for Project No. 1797: Citywide Municipal Fiber Optic Network Phase I not to exceed the amount of $26,919,708.50, to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, HP Communications, Inc. — 2. AUTHORIZE the Mayor to execute the contract with HP Communications, Inc. after approval as to form by the City Attorney.
