3. RESOLUTION NO. - Five (5)-year Contract with the County of Los Angeles: With a five (5)-year renewal option, covering pest control services at Los Angeles International Airport and Van Nuys Airport, for cost not to exceed $2,800,000\nPURPOSE: The purpose of the action is to establish a five (5)-year contract, with a five (5)-year renewal option, with the County of Los Angeles for pest control services at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Van Nuys Airport (VNY) for bee control and pest and rodent abatement throughout the Air Operations Area (AOA), fields, and other landscaped areas located within LAX and VNY, to mitigate wildlife and bird strikes on the AOA, and to protect the health and safety of employees and guests.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: Adoption of the Report requesting that the Board of Airport Commissioners determine that this action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Article II, Section 2.f of the Los Angeles City CEQA Guidelines; find that the work can be performed more economically or feasibly by an independent contractor than by City employees; approve the Contact with the County of Los Angeles; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer, or designee, to execute said Contract after approval as to form by the City Attorney.
