4. AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE ORDER WITH LOS ANGELES\nTRUCK CENTERS, LLC DBA VELOCITY VEHICLE GROUP FOR THE PURCHASE OF SIX AUTOMATED\nSIDE\nLOADER REFUSE PACKERS, AND ONE REAR END LOADER FOR A TOTAL OF $3,310,403 AND\nWITH PB LOADER FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE UTILITY TRUCK FOR $91,630 FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF\n$3,402,033 (Public Works Dept.)\nRecommendation: It is recommended that the City Council:\n(1) Find that the action in the agenda report is exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act\n(CEQA) in accordance with Section 15061(b)(3), “Common Sense” exemption that CEQA only applies to projects\nthat may\nhave an effect on the environment;\n(2) Authorize the City Manager to enter into a purchase order with Los Angeles Truck Centers, LLC dba\nVelocity Vehicle Group for the purchase of six Renewable Compressed Natural Gas (RCNG) automated side\nloader refuse\npackers, and one RCNG rear end loader for a total of $3,310,403. Competitive bidding is not required\npursuant to City Charter Section 1002(H) contracts with other governmental entities or their contractors;\n(3) Authorize the City Manager to enter into a purchase order with PB Loader for the purchase of one all\nelectric utility truck for a total of $91,630. Competitive bidding is not required pursuant to City Charter Section\n1002(H)\ncontracts with other governmental entities or their contractors; and\n(4) Grant the proposed purchase orders an exemption from the Competitive Selection process pursuant\nto Pasadena Municipal Code Section 4.08.049(9) contracts for which the City's best interests are served.
