APPROVAL OF SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT APPLICATION FOR THE IMPERIAL BEACH ATHLETIC CLUB (IBAC) 2025 SUMMER SERIES AND USE OF DESIGNATED BEACH SPACE AND SOUND AMPLIFICATION PERMIT. (1040-10) Recommendation: Staff recommends the City Council: 1. Approve a special event permit application from the Imperial Beach Athletic Club to host their event series. Approval includes: a. Use of beach area at the end of Dahlia for their Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, September 6, 2025 and Sunday, September 7, 2025; and b. Use of beach area at the end of Imperial Beach Boulevard for their Over the Line Tournament on Saturday, October 11, 2025 and Sunday, October 12, 2025; and c. Use of beach area at the end of Elm Avenue for their Horseshoe Tournament on Saturday, October 25, 2025; and d. Sound amplification for all three events. 2. Consider approving the applicant’s request for a waiver of eligible special event fees.
