APPROVAL OF SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT APPLICATION FOR THE IMPERIAL BEACH\nATHLETIC CLUB (IBAC) 2025 SUMMER SERIES AND USE OF DESIGNATED BEACH\nSPACE AND SOUND AMPLIFICATION PERMIT. (1040-10)\nRecommendation:\nStaff recommends the City Council:\n1. Approve a special event permit application from the Imperial Beach Athletic Club\nto host their event series. Approval includes:\na. Use of beach area at the end of Dahlia for their Cornhole Tournament on\nSaturday, September 6, 2025 and Sunday, September 7, 2025; and\nb. Use of beach area at the end of Imperial Beach Boulevard for their Over the\nLine Tournament on Saturday, October 11, 2025 and Sunday, October 12,\n2025; and\nc. Use of beach area at the end of Elm Avenue for their Horseshoe Tournament\non Saturday, October 25, 2025; and\nd. Sound amplification for all three events.\n2. Consider approving the applicant’s request for a waiver of eligible special event\nfees.
