Reorganization of the City Council - Selection of Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore It is recommended that the City Council follow the established procedures set forth in the City Policy as follows: At the City Council reorganization meeting in 2025 and each year thereafter, the city council will appoint a council member to serve as mayor and a council member to serve as mayor pro tem in accordance with the following; 1. The current mayor pro tempore will automatically succeed and be appointed to the position of mayor.
