12.B. Consideration and possible introduction and first reading of an Ordinance amending Monterey Park Municipal Code Chapters 1.10, 2.56, 4.20, and 4.30 to designate the Planning Commission as the Board of Appeals to consider appeals arising from application of the California Building Standards Code It is recommended that the City Council consider: 1. Reading by title only, waiving further reading, and introducing an Ordinance amending Monterey Park Municipal Code Chapters 1.10, 2.56, 4.20, and 4.30 to designate the Planning Commission as the Board of Appeals to consider appeals arising from application of the California Building Standards Code; and 2. Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable. CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act): The Ordinance is exempt from additional review under the California Environmental Quality Act (Public Resources Code §§ 21000, et seq., “CEQA”) and the regulations promulgated thereunder (14 California Code of Regulations §§ 15000, et seq., the “CEQA Guidelines”) because it consists only of minor revisions and clarifications to an existing code of construction-related regulations and specification of procedures related thereto and will not have the effect of deleting or substantially changing any regulatory standards or findings required therefor, and therefore does not have the potential to cause significant effects on the environment. 13.
