24. PRESENTATION REGARDING THE CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE FIRE PREVENTION STRATEGY FOR FIRE HAZARD SEVERITY ZONES AND PROVIDE DIRECTION REGARDING PROPOSED WILDFIRE MITIGATION MEASURES WITHIN THE CITY'S FIRE HAZARD SEVERITY ZONES Recommendation It is recommended that the City Council: a. Receive and review the City's comprehensive Fire Prevention Initiative for the Monterey Hills and other designated Fire Hazard Severity Zones (FHSZ), including priority tree trimming, emergency access improvements, strategic vegetation management, and public outreach efforts; and b. Provide policy direction supporting the implementation of the proposed wildfire mitigation measures within the City's Fire Hazard Severity Zones.
