(5) 26-1029 CD 15 ARTS, PARKS, LIBRARIES, AND COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT COMMITTEE REPORT relative to an amendment to Contract No. C- 143404 with Museum Associates, dba Los Angeles County Museum of Art, for the Watts Towers Restoration and Conservation Project. Recommendation for Council action: AUTHORIZE the General Manager, Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA), or designee, to execute the amendment to Contract No. C- 143404 with Museum Associates, dba Los Angeles County Museum of Art, to provide for the continued restoration, conservation, consultation, and maintenance services for the Watts Towers for an amended term beginning retroactively on July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025; and, increase the contract ceiling from $229,009 to $1,336,593, subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form. Fiscal Impact Statement: The City Administrative Officer (CAO) reports that the proposed amendment increases the contract ceiling by $1,107,584, from $229,009 in the first year to $1,336,593 for all three years. Funding is provided by the California State Department of Parks and Recreation, State Park Program ($450,000), City of Los Angeles Recreation and Park Sites & Facilities Fund No. 209 ($500,000), DCA Special Appropriations III Account ($307,584), and the DCA Trust Fund No. 844 ($79,009) Financial Policies Statement: The CAO reports that approval of this contract is in compliance with the City’s Financial Policies in that expenditures anticipated in the proposed amendment are fully funded by existing funds.
