CD 14 ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE REPORT relative to
temporarily prioritizing requests in Boyle Heights for bulky item pick up,
street sweeping and power washing, and dead animal removal, and
related matters.
Recommendations for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Jurado -
Hernandez):
1. INSTRUCT the Bureau of Sanitation (BOS), in coordination with
Council District (CD) 14, to prioritize, for the next 60 days,
sanitation requests in CD 14 for bulky item pick up, street
sweeping and powerwashing, and dead animal removal in the
public right of way, which includes but is not limited to alleys and
sidewalks located within the community of Boyle Heights.
2. INSTRUCT the BOS, in coordination with CD 14, prioritize and
target street sweeping, power washing and bulky item removal
in alleys and sidewalks nearby schools within the community of
Boyle Heights, with the understanding that this directive is
limited to sanitation and maintenance activities and does not
authorize or constitute enforcement under Los Angeles
Municipal Code 41.18 or any other ordinance regulating sitting,
lying, or sleeping in the public right-of-way.
Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor
the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this
report.
