(34) 26-1264 CD 14 The Committee may recess to Closed Session, pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(1), to confer with its legal counsel relative to the case entitled Nasco Petroleum LLC v. City of Los Angeles, United States District Court (C.D. Cal.) Case No. 2:23−CV−00884. (This matter arises from a federal lawsuit filed by Nasco Petroleum LLC challenging the City’s previous adoption of Ordinance No. 187,709, which amended Los Angeles Municipal Code Sections 12.03, 12.20, 12.23, 12.24, and 13.01 to prohibit new oil and gas extraction and make existing oil extraction activities a nonconforming use in all zones.)
