(17) 26-1057 ARTS, PARKS, AND CITY FACILITIES COMMITTEE REPORT relative to amending the Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC) to designate pathways for bicycles and electric bicycles in Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP) facilities. Recommendation for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Raman - Blumenfield): REQUEST the City Attorney, with the assistance from the RAP, to prepare and present an Ordinance that would amend LAMC Section 86.04 to add language allowing: a. Bicycles and electric bicycles on paths designated or posted as Class I Bikeways or other pathways where bicycle operation is allowed by the Board of Recreation and Park Commissioners. b. Pathways to be designated with speed limits for bicycles and electric bicycles and/or requirements to dismount and propel them by hand along the trail. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
