(7) 25-0002-S133 RULES, ELECTIONS AND INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS COMMITTEE REPORT and RESOLUTION relative to establishing the City’s position on Assembly Bill (AB) 1569 (Davies and Chen) that would require the California Department of Education to develop a standardized electric bicycle (e-bike) safety and training program for pupils. Recommendation for Council action, pursuant to Resolution (Lee - Hutt), SUBJECT TO THE CONCURRENCE OF THE MAYOR: RESOLVE to include in the City’s 2025-26 State Legislative Program SUPPORT for AB 1569 (Davies and Chen) that would require the California Department of Education to develop a standardized e-bike safety and training program for pupils in grades 7 to 12, and URGE the Governor to sign the legislation. Fiscal Impact Statement: None submitted by the Chief Legislative Analyst. The City Administrative Officer has not completed a financial analysis of this report.
