14. ADOPTION OF THE 2024 STRATEGIC PLAN – F2M24-33, M2M24-58\nThe City Council, City Manager, Department Heads and Facilitator William Kelly of Kelly\nAssociates Management Group held a Special Council Meeting for a Strategic Planning\nSession on March 13, 2024 to update the City’s current Strategic Plan (adopted in April\n2023). Following the meeting, staff met to review the Council’s goals and objectives and\ndiscuss strategy and status of the new and updated strategic plan ideas with detailed goals\nand metrics to guide staff. On March 21, 2024, the City Council held a second special\nCouncil meeting to review all of the items on the updated 2024 Strategic Plan. The 2024\nStrategic Plan contains six Goals, defined: Goal 1: Enhance Public Safety; Goal 2:\nImprove Infrastructure and Mobility; Goal 3: Create a Strong Financial Base and Strong\nEconomic Base (Economic Development); Goal 4: Enhance Transparency and Open\nGovernance; Goal 5: Promote Sustainability; and, Goal 6: Improve Housing Opportunities.\nStaff will bring updates on the 2024 Strategic Plan to the Council on a quarterly basis.\nRecommended Action: City Council adopt the 2024 Strategic Plan and direct staff\nto undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
