RESOLUTION NO. - Award of three (3)-year Contract to Building Electronic Controls, Inc.:\nCovering fire alarm system maintenance and upgrades for Los Angeles World Airports, for cost\nnot to exceed $2,000,000\nPURPOSE: The three (3)-year contract for fire alarm system maintenance and upgrades will\nallow Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) to maintain continuous contractual coverage for\ncritical fire alarm services by harnessing additional licensed technical staff to assist with\ninstallation, repair, replacement, and reprogramming of fire life safety devices in new,\n4. established, and aging LAWA facilities.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: Adoption of the Report requesting that the Board of Airport\nCommissioners determine that this action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality\nAct (CEQA) pursuant to Article III, Class 1 (4) of the Los Angeles City CEQA Guidelines; find\nthat the work can be performed more economically or feasibly by an independent contractor than\nby City employees; approve Award of Contract to Building Electronic Controls, Inc.; and\nauthorize the Chief Executive Officer, or designee, to execute said Contract after approval as to\nform by the City Attorney.
