9. ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FROM CALRECYCLE UNDER THE SB 1383 LOCAL\nASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM — F2M23-18, M2M24-61\nOn October 23, 2023, the City Council approved Resolution No. R2M23-52 for the\nsubmittal of a grant application to the CalRecycle SB 1383 Local Assistance Grant\nProgram. The City submitted an application for $152,477 in funding to expand marketing\nefforts on organics recycling, purchase of recycling and organic waste receptacles, and to\nprocure commercial-grade equipment for the application of compost and mulch on City\nfacilities. On February 26, 2024, CalRecycle notified that the City was selected to receive\na grant award in the amount of $218,610.\nRecommended Action: City Council accept a grant in the amount of $218,610 from\nthe Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) under the SB 1383\nLocal Assistance Grant Program; appropriate revenue and expenditure funds; authorize\nthe City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents related to grant implementation;\nand, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
