12. | RESOLUTION DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO SUBMIT EMPLOYER ORIGINATED\nDISABILITY APPLICATIONS TO THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’\nRETIREMENT SYSTEM — F2M24-2, R2M24-12\nAn application for a CalPERS disability or industrial disability retirement may be initiated\nby an employee or an employer. In the past, CalPERS accepted Employer Originated\nApplications submitted by City staff. However, CalPERS recently notified the City that in\norder to maintain the status quo and accept Employer Originated Disability Applications,\nthe City Council must first officially delegate authority to staff via a resolution, per\nGovernment Code Section 21152. Therefore, staff requests that the City Council adopt a\nresolution delegating authority to the City Manager and Director of Human Resources &\nRisk Management to submit Employer Originated Disability Applications.\nRecommended Action: City Council adopt Resolution No. R2M24-12 entitled: A\nResolution of the Alhambra City Council delegating authority to submit Employer\nOriginated Disability Applications to CALPERS
