3-D. RENEWAL OF THE ASSESSMENT DISTRICT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024-25 AND SCHEDULE\nA PUBLIC HEARING PURSUANT TO STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE §§ 22500, ET SEQ.\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Adopting a resolution initiating and declaring the City Council’s intent to levy and collect\nassessments for Fiscal Year 2024-25 in Citywide Maintenance District No. 93-1 pursuant\nto Streets and Highways Code §§ 22500, et seq. and setting a time and place for a public\nhearing; and\n(2) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.\nCEQA (California Environmental Quality Act):\nThe proposed action is exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act (Cal.\nPub. Res. Code §§ 21000, et seq.; “CEQA”) and CEQA Guidelines (Cal. Code Regs. tit. 14, §§\n15000, et seq.) because it establishes, modifies, structures, restructures, and approves rates and\ncharges for meeting operating expenses; purchasing supplies, equipment, and materials; meeting\nfinancial requirements; and obtaining funds for capital projects needed to maintain service within\nexisting service areas. The proposed action, therefore, is categorically exempt from further CEQA\nreview under CEQA Guidelines § 15273.
