3-G. APPROVAL OF THE 2024 SEWER SYSTEM MANAGEMENT PLAN\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n(1) Approving the updated 2024 Sewer System Management Plan; and\n(2) Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.\nCEQA (California Environmental Quality Act):\nThe 2024 Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP) was reviewed pursuant to the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) and the regulations promulgated thereunder (14 Cal. Code\nof Regs. § 15000, et seq.; the “CEQA Guidelines”) Based upon that review, the SSMP is exempt\nfrom further review pursuant to CEQA Guidelines § 15301(c) (Existing Facilities) which exempts\nthe operation, repair, maintenance, alteration of existing public or private structures which involve\nnegligible or no expansion of existing or former use. CEQA Guidelines § 15301(c) notes that\nrepair of existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, and bicycle and pedestrian trails—like\nthe proposed work— are exempt from CEQA if additional automobile lanes are not created.
