K.3. CITY COUNCIL DIRECTION REGARDING FILLING CITY COUNCIL\nDISTRICT #3 VACANCY (Report of: City Clerk)\nRecommendations: That the City Council\n1. Adopt the attached Resolution calling for a Special Election which\nshall be consolidated with the November 5, 2024, General Municipal\nElection to allow the eligible voters of the City of Moreno Valley to elect\nwho shall serve the remaining term of the vacancy created by the\nresignation of the former District 3 Council Member which expires in\nDecember 2024 upon the installation of the candidate elected by the\nvoters on November 5, 2024, to serve as the District 3 Council\nMember for the 2024-2028 term; or\n2. Decide to make an appointment to fill the District 3 vacancy created by\nthe resignation of the former District 3 Council Member until the\ninstallation of the candidate elected by the voters on November 5,\n2024, in December 2024, to serve as the District 3 Council Member for\nthe 2024-2028 term, and provide direction to the City Clerk regarding\nappointment procedures deemed necessary and appropriate by the\nCity Council.
