21. CONTRACT AMENDMENT: PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE ASSESSMENT\nAND PLANS SPECIFICATIONS AND COST ESTIMATES FOR THE CITYWIDE BUS\nSTOP IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT – F2M21-68, C2M22-7, M2M24-77\n10\n5-13-24\nOn March 14, 2022, the City Council awarded a contract to Huitt-Zollars, Inc. to provide\nassessment and professional design services for the Citywide Bus Stop Improvements\nProject in the amount of $117,965.00. Due to an increased scope of work during the\npreparation of the Plans, Specifications and Estimates, it was determined that additional\npreparation, research and design for the project was necessary to complete the scope.\nThis additional work is an unforeseen change to the original contract; as such, staff is\nrecommending an increase of $20,000.00. All other provisions of the contract remain\nunchanged.\nRecommended Action: City Council approve an amendment, subject to final\nlanguage approval by the City Manager and City Attorney, to the contract with Huitt-Zollars\nInc. (C2M22-7) for the Assessment and Professional Design Services for the Citywide Bus\nStop Improvements Project; appropriate funding of $20,000.00 from the Prop A fund\nbalance, for a total contract amount of $137,965.00; and, direct staff to undertake the steps\nnecessary to finalize Council’s action.
