5.C. Award of Agreement to Michael Baker International to conduct the Santa\nMonica Blvd Safety Enhancement Study supported by a Caltrans Sustainable\nTransportation Planning Grant\nRecommended Action\nStaff recommends that the City Council:\n1. Adopt a finding of categorical exemption pursuant to Section 15252 of the\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act Guidelines.\n2. Award RFP # 389 to Michael Baker International to provide transportation\nplanning and traffic engineering services for the Santa Monica Boulevard\nSafety Enhancement Study for the Department of Transportation.\n3. Authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement with\nMichael Baker International in an amount not to exceed $590,000 (including\nan 11.6% contingency) for two years, with an additional one-year no-cost\nrenewal option on the same terms and conditions, for a total amount not to\nexceed $590,000 over a three-year period. Any additional future year funding\nwould be contingent on Council budget approval.
