RESOLUTION DECLARING FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF A PAVEMENT\nMANAGEMENT PROGRAM RELATED TO IMPROVEMENTS ON CHERRY\nAVENUE AND JESSIE NELSON CIRCLE PURSUANT TO A PUBLIC WORKS\nCONTRACT WITH EXCEL PAVING COMPANY\nSummary:\nThe Project is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to incorporate various pavement\nrepair strategies. This Project included the repair of approximately 83,000\nsquare feet of pavement repairs on Cherry Avenue between Hill Street and\nBurnett Street, and approximately 17,600 square feet, of Type II slurry seal\ncoating, on Jessie Nelson Circle and Hilltop Park parking lot. The Project\nincluded the restoration of traffic striping and markings. PALP, Incorporated, dba\nExcel Paving Company (Excel), completed the work for the Pavement\nManagement Program to the satisfaction of the Public Works Department and in\naccordance with the project specifications. Staff recommends the City Council\nadopt a resolution declaring final acceptance of the work performed by Excel.\nStrategic Plan Goal(s):\nGoal No. 4 Infrastructure: Maintain and improve the City’s physical\ninfrastructure, water system, and recreational spaces.\nRecommendation:\nAdopt a resolution, entitled:\nA RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SIGNAL HILL, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING\nWORK TO BE COMPLETED IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE PLAN\nSPECIFICATIONS FOR PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM - CHERRY\nAVENUE AND JESSIE NELSON CIRCLE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, IN\nACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT ENTERED INTO BETWEEN PALP,\nINCORPORATED DBA EXCEL PAVING COMPANY AND THE CITY OF\nSIGNAL HILL.
