H. COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH LOS ANGELES COUNTY FOR A TRAFFIC\nSIGNAL SYNCHRONIZATION PROJECT ON MAIN STREET/LAS TUNAS\nDRIVE FROM HUNTINGTON DRIVE TO GOLDEN WEST AVENUE FOR AN\nESTIMATED COST SHARE OF $361,500\nOn behalf of the City of San Gabriel and with City Council’s approval, the Los\nAngeles County Department of Public Works (LACDPW) is set to perform a\nTraffic Signal Synchronization Project (TSSP) on Main Street/Las Tunas Drive\narterial street route from Huntington Drive to Golden West Avenue, which is\njurisdictionally shared among three cities – Alhambra, San Gabriel, and Temple\nCity. Due to the scope and cost of the project, the County policy requires a\nCooperative Agreement to be executed for the TSSP project. The estimated\ntotal cost of the project is $3,744,200 with San Gabriel’s estimated share cost\nto be $361,500. Out of this $361,500 cost to the City, $348,851.02 will be\ncredited through the Federal Surface Transportation Program-Local (STP-L) to\nthe County in lieu of a cash payment. The remaining balance of $12,648.98 will\ncome from the City’s Traffic Impact Fees fund.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 24-36 to\nappropriate $12,648.98 from the Traffic Impact Fees Fund to account 122-800-\n40-97-736; authorize the City Manager to execute the Cooperative Agreement\nbetween the City and Los Angeles County and approve the assignment of\n$348,851.02 available Federal Surface Transportation Program-Local funds to\nthe County in lieu of a cash payment and approve a purchase order with the\nCounty for $12,648.98 using Traffic Impact Fees funds from account 122-800-\n41-97-736.
