61. Acton and Agua Dulce Shuttle Services Contract\nRecommendation: Find that the shuttle services can be more economically\nperformed by an independent contractor; award and instruct the Chair to sign a\ncontract with Transit Systems Unlimited, Inc., a Community Business\nEnterprise, to provide fixed-route/paratransit shuttle services to residents in the\nunincorporated communities of Acton and Agua Dulce (5), for a period of one\nyear, with four one-year and six month-to-month extension options, for a\nmaximum potential contract term of 66 months and a maximum potential\ncontract amount of $2,094,803; authorize the Director of Public Works to\nexercise the extension options if, in the opinion of the Director, Transit Systems\nUnlimited, Inc., has successfully performed during the previous contract period,\nand the services are still required, approve and execute amendments to\nincorporate necessary changes within the scope of work, and to suspend work\nif, it is in the best interest of the County to do so; annually increase the contract\namount up to an additional 10% of the annual contract amount, which is\nincluded in the maximum potential contract amount for unforeseen additional\nwork within the scope of the contract if required; and find that the contract work\nis exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act.
