Commemorating Juneteenth: A Commitment to Freedom and Reflection in\nLos Angeles County\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Mitchell: In honor of June 19,\n2024, as “Juneteenth” throughout the County, instruct all County Departments,\nand encourage cooperation from the Sheriff, District Attorney, Assessor and\nSuperintendent of Schools of the Los Angeles County Office of Education, to\ncollaborate with the County Librarian and the Director of Parks and Recreation,\nto amplify their Juneteenth initiatives across websites and social media\nplatforms; and urge all residents of the County to participate in Juneteenth\nevents and activities across the County, fostering a greater understanding and\nappreciation of this historic day and its current relevance to our community.\n(24-2128)
