7. Care with Pride: Affirming and Expanding the Gender Health Program\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Solis: Instruct the Directors of\nHealth Services, Mental Health, and Children and Family Services, in\ncollaboration with the Director of Public Health, to continue to regularly convene\na care coordination team involving clinical experts from each of the\nDepartments that considers active LGBTQ+ patients and clients in need of\nhealth services offered by involved Departments, and collaborate on a care\nmodel and ensures coordination and seamless transitions of care and services\namongst the Departments; and take the following actions:\nInstruct the Directors of Health Services, Mental Health, Children and\nFamilies Services, Public Health, and Public Social Services, in\npartnership with the LGBTQ+ Commission and community stakeholders,\nto convene in order to consider needed changes to the Departmental\nand/or County policies that will support the advancement of the delivery\nof gender-affirming care and services to County-responsible patients\nwith the goal of establishing the Department of Health Services’ Gender\nHealth Program as one of the preeminent care providers offering gender\naffirming care, with the task force to report back to the Board bi-annually\neither in writing, or verbally, as part of the Health and Mental Health\nCluster Agenda Review Meeting;\nInstruct the Executive Director of Racial Equity, to host and curate a\nwebsite with content provided by subject matter experts from the\nDepartments of Health Services, Mental Health, Public Health, Children\nand Family Services, Public Social Services, and other relevant\nDepartments, where LGBTQ+ residents can access information and\nresources on gender-affirming care, social services, and other programs\noffered by various County Departments, and direct the Chief Executive\nOfficer, through the Countywide Communications Office, to foster public\nawareness of the website through their various methods of\ncommunication; and\nInstruct the Director of Public Health to collaborate with the Directors of\nHealth Services, Mental Health, Children and Families Services and\nPublic Social Services, to incorporate information regarding the Gender\nHealth Program into the Public Health InfoLine.
