Proclaim June 2024 as “Elder and Dependent Adult Abuse Awareness\nMonth,” and June 15, 2024, as “World Elder Abuse Awareness Day” in\nLos Angeles County\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Horvath: Proclaim June 2024 as\n“Elder and Dependent Adult Abuse Awareness Month” throughout Los Angeles\nCounty; proclaim June 15, 2024, as “World Elder Abuse Awareness Day”\nthroughout Los Angeles County; instruct the Director of Aging and Disabilities\nto conduct community outreach education and provide educational materials to\nCounty Departments and residents about prevention, reporting, and elimination\nof elder and dependent adult abuse in the County, with the goal of educating the\npublic to ensure that elderly and dependent adults maintain their quality of life\nsafely, with dignity and respect; and encourage all County residents to wear\npurple in honor of “World Elder Abuse Awareness Day” and “Elder and\nDependent Adult Abuse Awareness Month .” (24-2119)
