9.5 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD EXPRESSING\nSUPPORT FOR ACTIONS TO FURTHER STRENGTHEN LOCAL DEMOCRACY,\nAUTHORITY, AND CONTROL AS RELATED TO LOCAL ZONING AND HOUSING\nISSUES\nComments:\nThe City of Lynwood received a request from "California Cities for Local Control" which is\na coalition of cities in the state that support the concept of local control in municipal\ngovernance. Several California cities have adopted resolutions that express opposition\nagainst efforts by the California Legislature in Sacramento to pass laws that affect local\ncontrol as it relates to zoning and land use authority. (CM)\nRecommendation:\nStaff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution entitled,\n"RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR\nACTIONS TO FURTHER STRENGTHEN LOCAL DEMOCRACY, AUTHORITY, AND CONTROL\nAS RELATED TO LOCAL ZONING AND HOUSING ISSUES"
