14. Consideration to Place a Measure on the November 5, 2024 General\nMunicipal Election Ballot for Submission to the Qualified Voters of a\nProposed Ordinance Amending Section 2.20.030 of the Del Mar Municipal\nCode Relating to City Council Compensation\nRecommended Action: It is recommended that the City Council: 1) Adopt a\nResolution (Attachment A) calling for the placement of a measure on the\nNovember 5, 2024 General Municipal Election ballot for submission to the\nqualified voters of a proposed ordinance amending Del Mar Municipal Code\n(DMMC) Section 2.20.030 to increase City Council compensation from\n$300/month to $950/month, and allowing the City Council to make adjustments\nto Council compensation via ordinance in accordance with strict limits set by\nState law (Exhibit A to Attachment A); and 2) Appoint two Councilmembers to\ndraft the argument and a rebuttal, if applicable, in favor of the measure for City\nCouncil approval on July 8, 2024.\nReference: Clerk’s File No. 401-1, 401-4, 401-9, 502-1\nXIV.
