7. AWARD OF THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODIFICATION AT BAKER 24-244\nSTREET AND BABB STREET, CITY PROJECT NO. 24-02, AND\nFINDING OF CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT (CEQA)\nCATEGORICAL EXEMPTION\nRECOMMENDATION:\nStaff recommends the City Council:\n1. Make a finding of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)\ncategorical exemption pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 and\nadopt plans, specifications, and working details for the Traffic Signal\nModification at Baker Street and Babb Street, City Project No. 24-02.\n2. Award a Public Works Agreement (PWA) for construction to Crosstown\nElectrical & Data, Inc., 5454 Diaz Street, Irwindale, CA 91706, in the amount\nof $292,787 and authorize an additional ten percent (10%) contingency\ntotaling $29,279 as needed for unforeseen costs from Measure “M2”\nFairshare (416) fund balance.\n3. Authorize a budget adjustment to appropriate $60,537 from Fund 416\nMeasure “M2” Fairshare available fund balance to the project.\n4. Authorize the City Manager and City Clerk to execute the PWA, and\nauthorize the City Manager to execute future contract amendments within\nCouncil authorized limits.\nENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION:\nThe proposed action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act\n(CEQA). The action involves an organizational or administrative activity of\ngovernment that will not result in direct or indirect physical change in the\nenvironment. In addition, the proposed action is exempt under Section 15301\nrelating to the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, and/or minor alteration\nof existing public facilities.\nAttachments: 1.
